A/T started to shift like a manual and gages did not work. When I arrived home parked and shut off. ...

Corrie19994 months ago

Do you have a scope to see the signal or does your meter have a frequency counter?

Bri19874 months ago

It looks like the joint connector is probably good as you have signal in the ECM but maybe the MC11 connector is where the break is. MC11 is in the right kick panel. If you need further help please post the engine size

Let me do a little digging and I will post again in a few minutes.

Hyundai issued two recalls for the airbag control module on certain vehicles; it should be replaced to prevent incorrect passenger side airbag deployment during an accident. For more information on these recalls, please click here» and here».

Check for continuity from pin 11 of the C135 joint connector to the pin 3 of the M17 connector shown in the photos below. These should be the green/orange wires. The connectors are burried behind the dash so I am not sure how much disassembly you will need to do to get to them. Maybe someone pulled the dash and ran a screw through the harness.

If the automatic transmission does not shift properly and the Check Engine Light illuminates, the speed sensors in the transmission may have failed. The sensors are simple and inexpensive to replace.

Porker4 months ago

If it does look for a break in that wire or corrosion in the connector. Refer to the schematic and you will see how this wire goes from the joint connector to the rest of the components that do not work.

Corrie19994 months ago

I will be here tomorrow, all you need to do is catch the signal at the ECM or joint connector and see what it looks like then see if it makes it to the cruise or other joint connector or cluster.

MDG Ltd4 months ago

OK, then the schematic is incorrect and the photo that shows the connector as only being for the 2.0L is correct.

there's continuity, the wires are not green/orange but gray/orange, i also check to pin 6 cruise ctrl, pin6 obd connector all good, also pin 11 m15-1 connector on dash panel they all have continuity i would say dash is no good, but that dont explain cruise not working

The problem: Affected vehicles may exhibit inaccurate speedometer readings and when diagnosed, exhibit trouble codes P0717, P0721, P0722. This may be due to faulty input and output speed sensors, located inside the automatic transmission.

The secondary hood latch may not fully secure the hood. This could allow the hood to open while driving. Dealers will replace the secondary hood latch free of charge to resolve the concern.

Let me know what you find and how I can help

MechExp4 months ago

OK, the wire diagram is a little confusing (par for Hyundai) and I need you to check the connector labeled as MC11/MC01 in the photo below and see if there is a green/orange wire in pin 3 space.

Col Minessota4 months ago

The break is at the joint connector or in the wiring, next step is to check the signal to the ECM as you can see that with the scantool and see what it looks like and then follow that signal to see where it drops out. At least you know it is not behind the dash.
