Good car, low emissions, good tax, overpriced, very well built but appalling in any sort of snow.

Fireboy5 months ago

'climate control' needs constant adjustment , is unpredictable. still not fixed [2 1/2 years old]. steering pull to left, improved brt will not know if acceptable till new tyres fitted [soon]. poor sound quality to sound system.

Matchmaker14 months ago

In my ownership the car has been very reliable but I have had a few niggly issues. one of them being that the gear knob keeps falling off! I previously had a 4x4 and so the vectra seems very economical in comparison.

Porker4 months ago

Great car and Multitronic gearbox is lovely and smooth but can be prone to reliability issues

Mary4 months ago

Thanks woody this is a grate help time to crack on an get it fixed

Fireboy4 months ago

I have had Audi A4's for the last ten years. The quality and reliability has gone down hill greatly on the last two I have owned. I have owned 5 in total. Will serriously look at a BMW next time.

Corrie19994 months ago

No problems other than broken rear spring and faulty rear screen wiper motor. One service a year appxł200,doesnt use oil between services.

Fireboy4 months ago

Never had any issues at all, our second audi and never a problem with either. Pretty good. disappointing mpg in comparison to book and tyres wear very quickly.

Bri19874 months ago

It has not broken down yet. Very few so far, servicing as expected.

Pete_W4 months ago

superb car, newer let me down.Ewerithing working perfectly.

Fireboy4 months ago

This system monitors the engine temperature. If the cooling system fault light illuminates whilst driving, stop the engine as soon as is safely possible. This may indicate the engine is overheating. Wait till the engine has cooled down and check engine coolant levels. If light remains on, seek assistance from a qualified Audi workshop. See what is engine coolant and how to check engine coolant for further details.

Gary19964 months ago

decent reliable no frills audi. good rung onto the audi ladder. something I now aspire to ascend, I wouldn't consider a different make for my main family car ever again.

Mary4 months ago

Have had a breakdown, a recall and it has had several mechanical repairs. Spare parts are very pricey.

petHead4 months ago

When this symbol illuminates it signifies that the brake pads on the vehicle are worn. Worn brake pads reduce effective braking and increase braking distances. Seek assistance from a qualified workshop to change brake pads.

Corrie19994 months ago

My car is reliable, reasonably economical and, since it has been "chipped", is entertaining to drive as well.

Fionas_Boy4 months ago

Mechanicaly good but once the the electrics are trouble its difficult to get any one to fix them unless you go to a dealer and pay a hefty price.

MDG Ltd4 months ago

Only one or two minor problems quickly dealt with under warranty. First 2 years 14.1p/mile. (no servicing so fuel only).third year 21p/mile. (1st service and 2 tyres included).

Gary19964 months ago

So the symptom is the climate control getting stuck on ECON mode, the light stays on and whatever you do, this is how it happened in my 2003 Audi A4 B6 (1.9 Tdi sport), but apparently even same year models can have no high-pressure sensor, in which case it may be your regulator/compressor and a bigger price tag to fix.

FordOwner4 months ago

Well designed car, well built, good performance but economic, reliable. Wish I had gone for the Stronic gearbox. Great phone system. I would definitely buy another.

Fionas_Boy4 months ago

The cvt automatic is the worst gearbox that audi could have used.it rolls foreward if you are facing downhill and you put it into reverse .it goes foreward about two feet before going backwards.its the same if you are going forwards and you stop on a slope, you roll back.not good . As the car is still new ifeel the costs are aceptable.

1. Order the part at an Audi dealership. I recommend doing this before anything else as it might take 24 hours to get it in. Some people have told me they should be called ‘Audi Stealerships’ but in my situation the ability to take my car registration and then pull up a full parts list for my car was invaluable, it let me know that I was getting the right part. I am sure you could get it cheaper elsewhere though, if you are sure of the part.

the sline suspension is just to hard and unforgiving for british b roads

Fireboy4 months ago

A great looking and reliable compact executive car. I'ts never let me down in 126000 miles. Just wish it was a bit more exciting.

MechExp4 months ago

i buy another new pressure sensor with 4 pins but they told me that should be Same serial number to be matching with the car computer it is true audi a6 model 2002

Porker4 months ago

good to drive and the best car i car i have ever had

Mary4 months ago

Hardly cost me anything to run in the four years I've had it. Chews through front tyres - that's the only negative.

Audi A4 brake cooling duct fault

A really good all-rounder. Does not excel in any one area but is overall a competent vehicle that has over the long term proven to be a reliable workhorse. Build quality still impresses even though its nearly 12 years old.

MDG Ltd4 months ago

Meticulous attention to the build makes you wonder if someone at Audi has OCDs! but that is how i like it after all the genius is in singlemindedness and not compromising in the small details.

FordOwner4 months ago

This system warns you if your vehicle is about to cross lane markings. The lane assist dashboard warning light is illuminated green to signify it is active. The symbol is illuminated amber to signify the system is inactive.

Mary4 months ago

Hi Laik, like £35 GBP or something…Can’t remember now. Is an Audi dealership part.

Fireboy4 months ago

Good car for the long term. High quality and low depreciation. And reliable so that serving becomes cheaper than economy brands

R2_Amazeballs4 months ago

2. Get system emptied, vacuumed and regassed by a professional. Note you can do this before or after replacing the high pressure sensor. I paid £50 to a local mobile specialist who did this after hours, you can do it yourself, vacuums arent to much etc, but I would get it done properly.

Mary4 months ago

the one i have is for Audi A6 2001 with four pins also

Fionas_Boy4 months ago

8. Don’t forget to plug it back in, screw up the plastic mount and replace the headlight unit!

Fireboy4 months ago

Other symbol colours such as blue and green provide the driver with information such as lights and indicators. Flashing warning lights inform the driver of an urgent issue.

Corrie19994 months ago

My Audi is by far the best car I've ever owned.

MechExp4 months ago

Things you will need to fix: Patch Cable from ebay (sub £10), Laptop, VCDS Lite (Free), Torque bit wrench kit, 17mm spanner, replacement high pressure sensor (also called thrust sensor) and about 20 minutes.

Corrie19994 months ago

My Audi is still in the garage waiting for a circuit board for the Engine Management System. Will take 3 weeks to be sent to UK from Germany. Pathetic to say the least. I expected a lot more reliability and customer service from Audi. They have let themselves down badly

MDG Ltd4 months ago

If the battery power drops to a level where problems may be encountered when starting the engine, the low battery power charge light will illuminate. If the light comes on for a period of time whilst driving and goes out, it means the engine has sufficiently charged the battery. If the light comes on and does not go out whilst driving, the battery power is not being sufficiently regenerated. Starting reliability issues may arise. Consult an authorised Audi technician.

Matchmaker14 months ago

And it looks like neither the ones in your post. So I am reluctant to order. The part number of mine is 8e0959126 which matches the one on Ebay so I’m really confused! Any help appreciated 🙂
