Apart from hard ride (which I was aware off prior to purchase ) the car does exactly what I expected in all areas of ownership. Its a compact hatchback, and has handled the loads and passenger needs, including driving abroad, very pleased. Previous three cars all VW`s, so I had a good guide as to what I should be getting.... and I got that a smart reliable, sporty compact hatch with very good build and it ticks all the boxes.

Audi blamed my driving style although Im 55yrs old and never had this problem before (2 MGF's before the Audi)

FordOwner4 months ago

No serious complaints but harsh uptake on clutch/gearbox from new. dealer refused to recognise a problem. Reasonable provided I don't use the authorised dealer.

MechExp4 months ago

Completely reliable never had a problem. Can be driven either economically or raced about and doesn't effect fuel economy significantly.

Pete_W4 months ago

Zero faults. Has only needed one service, at 19,000 miles.

i own an audi A3 s-line 170 ps diesel leather interior automatic quality of the whole car is superb esp the iterior design is excellent so much so that i chose it over the A4 and over the BMW 2.0d wish i could have a 3,0D A3 (not that this one isn't fairly quick)

Corrie19994 months ago

Elsewhere it’s mixed results for the Audi, though, which posts disappointing practicality and ride quality ratings, but redeems itself with excellent performance, reliability and handling, and a very intuitive MMI media interface that’s much-admired by drivers. At 27th place overall, the A3 is a solid investment, say family buyers.

Never had any issues. Vag parts aren't cheap but the reliability of the car makes up for this. there are also plenty of oem suppliers these days.

Pete_W4 months ago

Oly problem has been a broken spring on rear suspesion. Main dealer is expensive now out of warranty so servicing at local independant.

Escape from the marketing messages and ads that surround us and get genuine advice from other people about hot deals.

MechExp4 months ago

Has been faultless in the 2 1/2 years from new. Fuel consumption disappointing against manufacturers claims.dealer servicing costs very high.

petHead4 months ago

Only one issue in 3 years and about 45k miles, clip on turbo exit hose broke. Basic service at back street mechanics plus tyres.

Gary19964 months ago

My Audi A3 has done 145,000 miles in four and a half years and apart from the normal servicing cost/tyres etc i have sent around £1100 on non warranty repairs which i dont think is that bad. its done everything i wanted it to do

Audi S3 is quick, fun to drive and practical. Build quality is first rate. 4 wheel drive is great for today's frequent less than perfect road conditions.

Matchmaker14 months ago

So far very reliable, although electric windows not 100%. Uses more fuel than I'd like, otherwise good so far.

FordOwner4 months ago

Never had any problems with the car. Usually put about ł20 a week of fuel in to get myself and partner to work and weekend activities. Car drives well unless it snows!

petHead4 months ago

Audi is a good make and 5 door hatchback is just what we wanted. Could be better.

MechExp4 months ago

Currently 100% reliable. Fuel consumption improves on long runs at lower speeds, whether on main motorways/dual carriageways or country roads.

Gary19964 months ago

I have had one about 5 small problems since I purchased the car all the ones in the first 3 years were fixed under warrenty the other 2 were coil packs failing and repaired by the AA. just had to pay for the parts. I like the car, it is sylish, feels well built, comfortable to drive on long distances and is responsive. I will definately consider another Audi when the time comes to change my car.

Corrie19994 months ago

No major problems since purchase. Fine for this car, age and milage considered.

FordOwner4 months ago

Good build quality, ecomonical but very poor specification for money

MechExp4 months ago

Lovely, though not as well appointed or el built as y first Audi A3. There have definiftely been economies made at Audi. Will look at Audi/VW or even Skoda brand next time to keep it in the reliable family.

R2_Amazeballs4 months ago

Has never broken down. only needs 1 service a yr. very reliable. Needs little maintenance.

Col Minessota4 months ago

With no warning the DMF went at 70,000, destroying the clutch at the same time - I was about a month out of warranty which meant that the whole £1700 bill was down to me - not impressed.

Col Minessota4 months ago

Not one fault. Amazing on fuel considering the engine size of 2.5l and being petrol tax is reasonable serviceing is a bit pricey almost ł210 just for an oil change from audi at ł100 per hour labour parts are resonable and insurance isnt that bad either.

MechExp4 months ago

It has been fantastic. it has had services, new brakes and new tyres. that is it since I bought it. Well it is just the mpg really. it seems low compared to talking with friends. but it has been reliable and so saved me money there.

MDG Ltd4 months ago

The car is excellent. However, mine was one of the first of a new model with updated electronics and the alarm system has been troublesome. Eventually fixed after returning car to dealer three times, who referred back to factory. Eventually updated software installed and rolled out to all new A3 and TT models.

Gary19964 months ago

Audi A3 fuel tank fault

Excellent reliability, no problems. I hoped the mpg would be higher.

petHead4 months ago

Very reliable, looks great, build quality very good, performance great with good economy, extras are pricey though

Col Minessota4 months ago

Car done over 150,000 miles engine rebuild 10,000 miles ago , regular serviced by eurocar & rebuild. Engine rebuild & new turbo ł2,000.

R2_Amazeballs4 months ago

Faultless ! I looked into this before ordering so I haven't had any surprises.

Porker4 months ago

Graet car. Does most things very well but some areas comprimised. Dealer servicing expensive, but any decent garage should be able to do the work. Definitely the most reliable car I have owned.

MDG Ltd4 months ago

A very good car with typical Audi build quality. Only niggles are over firm ride and could be quieter, little bigger boot would be good too

Pete_W4 months ago

Then the fly Wheel caused problems which was also put down to my driving ...

Gary19964 months ago

A very economical car to run with superb styling and build quality.

Mary4 months ago

Reliable. fabulous build quality. good handling. reasonably understated looks but too expensive.

Red4 months ago

Looks good and there is perceived quality in the interior, however there is not real quality and lots of problems develop. Further, even premium dealers are not honest or reliable.

Bri19874 months ago

No problems during ownership. Fuel consumption could be closer to manufacture's figures.

Bri19874 months ago

Good car, which has been reliable, not as fuel efficient as it was when new

MechExp4 months ago

No problems at all to date. Very economical as expected.
