Welcome to the Website of Newington Community Primary School in Ramsgate. I have been the Headteacher of the school since it opened in 2007 and we have seen the most incredible changes in my time at the school. I am so proud to be leading a school that is full of hard working, polite and friendly children who are supported by an incredibly committed staff team who will go the extra mile because Newington children deserve the best!

School and class newsletters can be found on the newsletters/letters page.

Book a place at the Junior School Open Day for either the morning or the afternoon session.  Classroom doors will be open and, as well as a full tour of the school, you will have the opportunity to meet the Head, Mrs Ellen Rowe, and other members of staff and pupils.  Refreshments will be available and children and other family members are very welcome to come along too.

Our primary aim in school life is to ensure that the children are happy, safe and secure, but equally we need to ensure that our children are confident readers, articulate writers and quick and accurate mathematicians. Put this alongside our aim of nurturing Newington children who are socially responsible, who can work as part of a team and who are able to understand the needs of others, and we pride ourselves in developing very special young people.

We believe strongly in cultivating our community links. Our PTFA is proactive in organising highly successful events from film nights to discos to the summer fayre. We work closely with local schools, both primary and secondary and have a working group - The West Ramsgate Achievement Partnership - with Priory Infant School, Little Ellington Infant School and Ramsgate Free School.

Our staff are dedicated and innovative, highly qualified and experienced. They provide and nurture outstanding learning through stimulating lessons, ensuring enjoyment, progression and attainment. Our teachers are passionate educators who thrive on seeing their pupils grasp new concepts, learn new skills and excel in demonstrating their knowledge and understanding. They also believe that school should be fun!

Book a place at the Senior School Open Day which starts with signing-in from 10.30am followed by tours of the school.  The Principal, Mr Antony Spencer, will give a brief speech before a buffet lunch is served. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions of staff and pupils and collect further information on scholarships and bursaries. The Open Day will end at 2pm.

In the last 8 years the school has more than doubled in size, we have upgraded our facilities so that we are now graced with buildings and grounds that are suited to the needs of a twenty first century education. Whilst we serve the immediate community of Newington we also take children from across Ramsgate and also from Manston and beyond.

McAvoys have been appointed as the contractors to build the permanent site at 140-144 Newington Road, Ramsgate CT12 6PP. Ramsgate Free School will move from its temporary site at Chilton Primary School to its permanent site for September 2016.

Ramsgate Free School is a brand new Ramsgate primary school and part of the Chilton Academy Trust. It will have high academic standards and innovative teaching. We look forward to leading a primary school built around the traditional values of hard work, respect and high achievement and to delivering outstanding results.
