As an independent school, Potterspury Lodge is allowed freedom in its teaching; for instance the boys in Years 10 and 11 follow an ASDAN Life Skills programme but at the same time students follow the national Curriculum and can take the GCSEs in many subjects, like a normal comprehensive.
Potterspury Lodge School is a Cambian Group School in Northamptonshire, England. It has in the past (but not for about 20 years) taken girls but it is now a boys' school for ages 8–18. It has specialist facilities for children with autism and Asperger syndrome, as well as children with various behavioural, emotional or psychological difficulties.

Because of the location the school is in, it tries to make as much of it as possible. The school's grounds contain a sports field, an adventure playground, fishing lake, sports hall, tennis court, basketball court and skate park.
Previously the school was mostly used for children who had problems behaving or being in a classroom situation but recently it has tended to take students who are on the autism spectrum, including those with Asperger syndrome. The school employs an educational psychologist, child psychiatrist, Speech and Language Therapist and an Occupational Therapist.

Due to number of reforms to GSCE reporting introduced by the government in 2014, such as the exclusion of iGCSE examination results, the official school performance data may not accurately report a school’s full results. For more information, please see About and refer to the section, ‘Why does a school show 0% on its GSCE data dial? In many affected cases, the Average Point Score will also display LOW SCORE as points for iGCSEs and resits are not included.
