Did you know that as a farmer or landowner, there are savings to be made with biomass wood fuel heating? Not only can you cut your fuel costs substantially and reduce your carbon footprint, you could also be eligible to claim the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and earn an income.

From forage harvesting to combining, from hedge trimming to compost spreading and from drilling to baling.

Woodmancote Contractors are wood fuel suppliers offering the supply and/or delivery of high quality wood chip for the biomass boiler industry. Operating from our wood fuel hub in Emsworth, on the Sussex/Hampshire border, we supply and deliver wood chip across the South Coast of England.

Two former parishioners John Oswald, and Thomas Harland, were martyrs of the reformation period, both being burned at the stake as heretics on 6th June 1556 at Lewes during the Marian Persecution.  For more information on the martyrs, please follow this link to the Woodmancote Martyrs page.

Woodmancote is a village and civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England, located 1 mile (1.5 km) southeast of Henfield on the A281 road. It should not be confused with the other West Sussex village of Woodmancote near Chichester.

See our Foraging Services Page which covers grass, maize and whole crop silaging.

This scattered community has no village centre, but includes the hamlet of Blackstone. The Anglican parish church, St Peter's, stands alone beside the A281 road, while not far away is Woodmancote Place, a large house used as a country club. Originally thirteenth century the church was largely rebuilt in 1868. There is also a parish hall.

Are there good vegetarian options on the Sunday menu?

However, if you just need a JCB digger or a specialised tractor for a day or week, we can also supply some agricultural plant on a self drive basis. With so much farm machinery available and an extensive list of contracting services, not all of our plant hire and services are shown on this web site. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss you farming requirements.

Partnerships with landowners and farmers is an increasingly important part of our business. We have formed various share farming agreements over the past 15 years giving farmers a guaranteed return on investment.

The Woodmancote Contracting Services covers Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey. We run a modern fleet of machinery including Fendt and New Holland tractors along with Claas combines and forager, JCB loaders and Bateman sprayers plus a vast array of attachments. All of our machinery is operated by experienced technicians.

Please note we are continually updating our machinery for the very latest models, as such in some cases not all imagery shown on this site is our latest model. Similarly, our farm contracting services are extensive, so if you require a particular service that is not listed, please call us to enquire and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.

See the General Services Section where we cover baling, dung/compost spreading, trailer work, hedge cuttting and much more.

See our Arable Services Section which covers most farming tasks from cultivation, drilling, spraying, fertilising to harvesting. We can offer these services on a part or whole farm management contract if required.

Woodmancote may refer to more than one place in England:

See our Plant Hire Page where, in addition to our normal farming services, we offer some of our agricultural plant and machinery on a self drive hire basis.

Woodmancote Agricultural Contractors (WAC) (est.1974) is based near Emsworth on the West Sussex/Hampshire border. With over 40 years of experience, the business provides an extensive range of agricultural services including complete and part farm contracts.

We have also recently expanded our operations to include wood chipping and wood fuel supply services to meet the increasing demand for the biomass heating industry. We have invested in specialist machinery including a Mus-Max WT 11Z wood chipper and Specialist Bulk Delivery Trailer (32 m3).

Using our large Mus-Max WT11Z wood chipper, powered by a powerful 400 hp Fendt 939 tractor, we are able to offer one-off or contract wood chipping across the South Coast of England, including Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.

The parish was recorded in the Domesday survey of 1086 as Odemancote. Two of the Lewes martyrs, burnt at the stake in the Marian Persecutions of 1556, Thomas Harland and John Oswald, came from Woodmancote.

In 2014 Roger Moulton, a member of the congregation, wrote the following short history of St Peter’s which also contains photographs taken by Barry and Pamela Chaston. Printed copies of the history, which contains more wonderful photos of St Peter’s, can be found in the church on a Sunday morning , or do contact the parish office.
