In 2011 I was also made executive head teacher of Dalton Foljambe Primary School which subsequently joined with Thrybergh to form the first 3-16 through school in Rotherham – Thrybergh Academy and Sports College.
I became Executive Head Teacher of Rawmarsh Community School in March 2013 with the school converting to an academy under sponsorship arrangements on 01st August 2014 joining Wickersley Partnership Trust. I also became Executive Head Teacher of Clifton Community School on 01st January 2014.

An audience of students and staff joined the Drama Department in the A Block Quad for a sunny lunchtime as our A Level students performed scrumdiddlyumptious scenes inspired by Roald Dahl’s Matilda, Fantastic Mr Fox and Revolting Rhymes.

My current role is Head of Operations for Squadron Medical a distributor of medical and surgical products to both public and private healthcare providers. It is a very varied and challenging role that has to meet the needs of the patient.

Wickersley Parish Council serves the civil Parish of Wickersley, which has a population of around 8,000 people living in 3,200 residential properties. The Council has sixteen members, elected by residents, and represents the first tier of local government in Rotherham.
I published my first book ‘Good Teachers, Good Schools: How to create a successful school’ in 2009; was designated a National Leader in Education (NLE) in February 2011 and awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list, January 2015.

I retired from full time teaching in the summer of 2014 to work as a consultant headteacher and develop new interests as an Ofsted inspector and local magistrate. I am chair of governors at a Rotherham primary school and I now volunteer one half day every week for a local hospice shop.

Wickersley is a small village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England, situated 3 miles (5 km) from the centre of Rotherham. The area is very near to road junctions for the M1, M18 and A1(M) (passing through Bramley, Rotherham).
I first became a Parent Governor when my Daughter started primary school at Rawmarsh Ashwood in 2003. I continued there as Governor but also joined Rawmarsh Community School when she started year 7.
There are 3 churches in Wickersley. Wickersley's parish church, which is part of the Church of England diocese of Sheffield, is dedicated to St Alban and it is one of the oldest buildings in Wickersley. There is also Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic church, as well as a Methodist church.
I was elected to the Trust Board in September 2015.
I have a PCET Certificate in Education awarded by Huddersfield University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) awarded by the University of Wales.

Council meetings are held in the new Community Centre on Bawtry Road on the third Monday of each month at 7.00 p.m, apart from the month of August. There is also a meeting of Parishioners (the Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting) held in May each year. Other Public Meetings are held to discuss particular matters as and when they arise.

I was elected Chair of the Rotherham School Improvement Partnership (ROSIP) in November 2011 which later became Learners First Schools Partnership. The Partnership embraces schools from across the Yorkshire and Humber region as well as Teaching School Alliances from Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Wolverhampton.
Wickersley was once held by Richard FitzTurgis (who adopted the name 'de Wickersley), founder of Roche Abbey, and subsequently by his heirs by marriage, the de Livet (Levett) family. The Wickersleys later removed to Sheffield, where they built the home Broom Hall. The village of Wickersley has a population of 7,235 increasing to 7,392 at the 2011 Census.
