The Parish Council meet on a monthly basis at the village hall which is situated at the top of Union Street (off Chorley Old Road). The meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at 7:30pm and are open to the public to attend. Agendas for each meeting will be posted on this site as will the minutes of previous meetings.

Whittle was on the map due to its Sandstone quarries. Mainly 2 large quarries on Hill Top Lane. Whittle Hill Quarry is one of the deepest quarries in the North West. These were fed by the canal which took stone that had been excavated to Walton Summit and Wigan.
