The main village lies on the marine silt ridge, known as the Townlands, which rises between the former salt marsh and the former fen to be found around The Wash. This ridge follows the A151 road. Its neighbours on the Townlands are Holbeach and Moulton. Whaplode St Catherine is a hamlet in Whaplode parish.

Whaplode is both a village and parish about 100 miles north of London between the towns of Spalding and Holbeach. The parish is a long, narrow affair, running north to south, and incorporates the hamlets of Whaplode Drove, Dowsdale, Sheppeau Stow, Postland and most of Saracens Head. Moulton parish is neighbor to the west and Holbeach parish to the east. The area of 10,200 acres is flat fenland, drained by many small canals.

On the first Wednesday of the month (summer months only), The Bluebell Inn hosts Classic Car and Bike Rallies. These have been extremely popular over the past few years and attracted enthusiasts from far and wide. Feel free to join us (no entry charge) to view these splendid vehicles and enjoy a bar snack and a refeshing pint of on-site brewed ale. The video below shows one of the rallies from Summer 2016.

Whaplode Manor is a family run business situated in the Lincolnshire fens, close to the market towns of Spalding and Boston. The business has been established for over 30 years. The manor itself is Georgian, built in 1737 and is the family home. The business is located in the 19th century granary barn which forms two sides of a stunning courtyard. The old stables have been converted into deluxe accommodation each room with its own en-suite and with modern facilities.

Mick CLAXTON tells us (2009): "Whaplode Drove is a small village between Crowland and Holbeach. It was orinally part of the parish of Whaplode but became a parish in it's own right in the early 1900's." The web page author could only find an ecclesiastical parish of Whaplode Drove, created in 1902, with the church of St. John the Baptist. The Civil Parish appears to remain just "Whaplode".

Whaplode Drove is a largely rural village and lies in the middle of the Lincolnshire Fens.

Whaplode is situated on the A151 road. 2 miles (3 km) west from Holbeach and 4 miles (6 km) east from Spalding.

Whaplode Drove is a small village in the civil parish of Whaplode (where the population is included), in the South Holland district of Lincolnshire, England.[1] It is approximately 10 miles (16 km) south from the market town of Spalding. The hamlet of Shepeau Stow is 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south-west.
