The main features of Bulphan are the Bulphan Village Hall and Park, St Mary The Virgin Church, the Village Shop and Bulphan Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School. The church is a grade I listed building.[1]

Ward staff meet regularly with carers and social services to discuss each patient’s progress and develop a plan for their ongoing care.

The planning application for an extension to the Village Hall to provide a shop has been approved and we can now start on the next steps:

Bulphan Ward provides care for patients who need:

The Church is part of the United Benefice of St.Mary the Virgin, Bulphan; St.Peter & St.Paul, Horndon on the Hill; and St.Giles and All Saints, Orsett.

Patients who need treatment for an injury or who are having planned orthopaedic surgery.

Bulphan Village Hall is a great venue for Village activities, birthday parties (except for persons aged between 11 and 20), weddings, anniversaries, Christenings, funeral wakes, family get togethers, fund raising events, quiz nights, race nights,  pamper evenings, group and club meetings, seminars and much more.

Bulphan is fairly isolated and only has three bus services: the 265, which runs up to twice per day, Monday to Saturday, between Brentwood and Lakeside Shopping Centre; the 564 to Grays (5 times per day, Monday to Saturday) and the 565 to Brentwood Station via West Horndon (6 times per day, Monday to Saturday). School buses also connect Bulphan with Palmers College in Grays, and the 269 service stops on the A128 en route to Thurrock College. The nearest railway station is three miles away.

Bulphan forms part of the Orsett ward of Thurrock Council, and is part of the South Basildon and East Thurrock parliamentary constituency. It is located 21 miles (34 km) east north-east of Charing Cross in London. The Upminster post town forms a long, thin protrusion eastwards over the M25 motorway and the Greater London boundary in order to include the village.

The Outreach Post Office was officially opened at 1.30pm on Thursday 31st March by ex-postmaster Denis Fewtrell.  The initial technical glitches have all been fixed and it is now fully operational.

Parish Services are held on Sunday at 9:15am, except for the first and second Sundays of the month. On the second Sunday of the month we have a Family Service (at 9:15am). On the first Sunday of the month there is only one United Benefice service at 10:00am. This rotates around the three churches.

Bulphan is a village in the borough of Thurrock in the East of England and one of the traditional (Church of England) parishes in Thurrock. It is pronounced 'Bull-ven' though newcomers often mispronounce it as 'Bul-fan'.
