The county town of Bedford is one of England's smallest counties and is only a 35 minute train ride from Central London. Its history, spanning more than a thousand years is detailed in a trail leading around the Castle Mound and through the Castle Gardens of the Embankment area of the River Great Ouse which is one of the most central and attractive features of the town.
The area of Bedfordshire has something to offer everyone, from the more active caravanner to those looking to take a more relaxed approach with their caravanning holiday. The town of Bedford is situated in this diverse county and it is full of activities for thrill seekers, with a selection of water sports on offer in Priory Country Park such as canoeing and sailing.

Bedford can also offer canoe trips and skydive simulation offering you the chance of doing a real sky dive but without the safety risks. If you want to go for the more relaxed approach you can take a river trip with a piece of cake and a tea on a quintessentially British excursion; or take a stroll in one of Bedford’s fine gardens such as Wrest Park where you can also admire 18th Century French architecture.

Due to the proximity of the caravan site to the lakes children need to be supervised at all times. Dogs are permitted however as much of the site consists of barefoot areas for water sports users we ask that visitors to keep dogs on leads at all times and to clean up after them.

Caravanning in Bedfordshire
All pitches are serviced with water and a 6 AMP electric hook ups and the site includes a dedicated toilet block. There are also showers available in the main building. The well-drained grass and roadway to the caravan site ensure easy year-round access.

Caravan owners may also wish to visit a campsite in the market town of Sandy which is home to the RSPB; this is open all year round to offer tourists walks and viewing hides to indulge in some bird watching. The more adventurous caravanner can even take to the skies with a gliding lesson.
